Ethics Updates: Offers current popular and professional information about ethics, including ethical theory, and information on applied ethics topics such as animal rights and environmental ethics. The site is maintained by Lawrence M. Hinman of the University of San Diego.
Guide to Philosophy on the Internet: A vast compilation of philosophy sites, carefully organized and frequently updated. The site has excellent sections on philosophers and topics in the field. The compiler, Peter Suber, a professor of philosophy at Earlham College, has marked recommended sites that are particularly helpful for accessing information quickly.
The Internet Encyclopedia of Philosophy: A growing collection of articles on philosophers and their works as well as articles adapted from public domain sources. The site is edited by James Fieser of the University of Tennessee and Bradley Dowden of California State University, Sacramento. The content is edited by professors, philosophers, and authors who specialize in a given field.
Philosophy in Cyberspace: A cleanly designed list of philosophy sites annotated in detail. Organized into five sections - topics, texts, organizations, discussion forums, and miscellaneous - the site is notable for its selectivity and frequent updates. It is maintained by the Department of Philosophy at Monash University in Australia.
Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy: Offers authoritative articles that are updated to reflect changes in the field. Entries are kept current by experts in philosophy and reviewed by an editorial board.

Bible Browser: A sophisticated search engine for the text of the Bible that offers a choice of three translations. It is maintained by the Brown University Scholarly Technology Group.
Boston University School of Theology: Religion and Philosophy Resources on the Internet: A clear, helpful point of entry to religious traditions, with useful links for academic research. The site is organized by major categories including general religion resources, Asian religions, Christianity, Islam, and Judaism.
Christian Classics Ethereal Library: A rich and comprehensive series of key Christian historical texts. Material is organized alphabetically by author, title, and type of text. CCEL is an online library at Calvin College.
Religion, Religions, Religious Studies: Offers selective, annotated links to religious traditions, including Afro-European and Asian, contemporary issues, religious studies programs, and research and teaching resources. It is maintained by an associate professor in the religion department at the University of Florida.
Religions and Scriptures: Links and resources covering all of the major religions such as Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism, Islam, Jainism, Confucianism, Shintoism, and Baha'i faith. Links to at least one main text for almost all of the traditions can be found under individual categories. Well designed and easy to use, the site is hosted by the University of Maryland.
Sacred and Religious Texts: A comprehensive site offering links to sacred texts from around the world. Visitors can link to either Old Testament Apocrypha or New Testament Apocryphal Gospels and visit Zen texts, Taoist texts, and Sikh texts, to name a few. The site is maintained by David Wiley, a professor at Utah State University.
